Application for Foreign Language (English) Test for Spring, 2023

This is to inform you of the application procedure for Foreign Language(English) Examination for Spring semester, 2023. Those who want to take foreign language test have to apply for it within the designated period stated below. Please check the details and follow the procedure.
  * The degree thesis can only be submitted after passing the Qualifying examination.
 * Application Period for Exemption from Foreign Language Test: 2023.03

1. Foreign Language (English) Test

  - Subject : English (Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading) 

  - The number of Questions : 50 questions / 4 choices objective test 

  - Criteria of Acceptance : (For Master's) 60 points or higher out of the total of 100 points 

                          (For Ph.D & Integrated) 70 points or higher out of the total of 100 points 

2. Date of Test

  - Test date and Time: 2023.02.02.(Thu) 16:00 ~ 17:10 (70mins)

  - All the examinees should arrive 15 minutes before the test starting time at the test site. 

3. Place for Test

  - It will be announced later on our website

- The place for test will be posted on graduate school website. ( https://grad.ajou.ac.kr/gs_eng/community/notice.do)

4. Applicants

  - Enrolled students, Students who have completed all required courses, Students on leave of Absence in General Graduate school 

  - In case of Foreign students using English as a native language in their home country, they don't have any qualifications for taking a test. Only for Foreign Students who are not using English in their country can take the test.

 - Application Period for test and Payment: 2023.01.12. (Thu) ~ 01.16 (Mon)

  a. Application procedure : AIMS2 portal Login – (New)Academic Affairs Information – Grad/Graduation –Foreign Language Exam Application (on the left side menu)

  b. Application Fee : 15,000 KRW

  c. Payment procedure : After completing the application through AIMS2, please send the application fee to the Bank Account stated below.

    - Bank Account : KB Kookmin(국민) 808490-29-000378

      Account Holder name : Ajou University Graduate school 

    - Please send the money to the account with your name and the department that you affiliated in. 

    - To finish the application process, all the examinees are required to do online application firstly, then pay the application fee to the Bank account stated above with the designated period.

7. Application for cancellation of the Test

  -Application Period for cancellation of the Test: 2023.01.20.(Fri) ~ 01.27.(Fri) 15:00

  -Required documents: Application for cancellation of foreign language test (attachments)

- Where to Submit : E-mail: grad@ajou.ac.kr

  - The application fee can be refunded only in case that examinees apply for cancellation of the Foreign Language test.

8. Notes

  - MUST wear mask.

  - Please bring the pen for computer, correction tapes and identification card(Student ID card, Alien Registration card, driver's license).
 If you do not have your identification card, you will be restricted from taking a test.

  - After starting the test (after 4 pm), examinees can't enter the test sites and anyone can't go out of the test site until the test finishing time. 

  - The announcement of Examination : It will be noticed later on graduate school website.

  - How to check the results : AIMS2 portal Login – (New)Academic Affairs Information – Grad/Graduation –Foreign Language Exam Application - You can check the results, Pass or Fail.

* Depending on the situation(COVID-19), the test may be rescheduled or cancelled.
